What is a taxi truck?

A taxi truck is a truck and driver booked for your job, much like booking a taxi. It collects from your pickup address and goes straight to the delivery address, carrying only your freight. There are no depot transfers and no consolidation with other customers' loads, so you know when it leaves and when it should arrive.

It fills the gap between a courier and a scheduled full load.

When to use a taxi truck

• It has to arrive today. A customer, site or production line is waiting and the next scheduled run is too late.
• Too big for a courier. Pallets, building materials or equipment that won't fit in a car or van.
• A timed site delivery. Materials needed on a construction or trade site at a specific time.
• Something got left off. A short-shipped item or missed pallet that has to catch up.
• Your own network is full. Overflow when your regular trucks are at capacity.
• An urgent port pickup. Freight that has to come out of the Port of Brisbane today (see below).

Taxi truck pricing and hire options

We price taxi trucks per job or per hour, with half-day and full-day hire for longer jobs. You get the price before the truck is dispatched. The main factors are:

• the size of truck the load needs
• the distance between pickup and delivery
• how long the job takes, including loading, unloading and any waiting time
• how urgent it is
• site access at each end

4. 4.We collect and deliver direct. You can reach the driver throughout the job.
